Where Do Creativity and Productivity Meet?

Creativity isn’t as mysterious as you think.

But it is a challenge.

Albert Einstein said, “Creativity is intelligence having fun.”

And yet, our fast-paced, career-minded, society has largely abandoned creative play.

Many companies have removed games from work computers and blocked interactive websites. But by grasping work too tightly have we lost the productivity that we seek? Albert Einstein believed creative fun was related to learning, effectiveness,

How to Create an Idea Stash in 30 Minutes a Day

Have you ever wished you had an idea stash?

A stash is something stored away, usually in a secret place, for future use. Imagine you have to write a story, so you dip into your magical stash and grab a few ideas. You need to write an article or query for a magazine with a fresh angle, so you sneak into your idea reserve and develop an outline from one of your many choices.

Blazing-Hot Writing Tactics to Combat Brain-Freeze

Are your writing thoughts caught up in a winter vortex?

Is the cold weather sending your mind into hibernation mode?

Yes, below-freezing temperatures can chill your ability to churn out ideas, words, and paragraphs. It’s hard finding a fresh writing angle when you want to curl up in a warm spot and hibernate, (regardless of what Punxsutawney Phil predicts).

Warning: You May Be Trashing Terrific Stories (and Leads)

You probably haven’t gone completely paperless. I still like to page through magazines. I get the Wednesday and Sunday newspapers. What is Writing?

"A writer looks at a screen or piece of paper like a canvas. They see a country unexplored, a picture unpainted, a tale not told. They dare to venture into the barren land, explore its dark corners, and paint its pictures. Then they unveil the epic with the goal of compelling people to visit their newly discovered territory.”
