Happy New Year plus Something Free

Greetings friends,

Some new people have followed since my last post. Welcome! I usually post three to four times a month, except December. In December, traffic is slow on the internet and much slower everywhere else (and don’t even mention parking). I appreciate the visitors to my blog and especially those who park and sit a spell. I’ll have a new post soon. Until then, I wanted to say I enjoyed the holidays and I hope you did too.

But I realized I didn’t get anything for my readers (you don’t have to get me anything either). However, I do want you to focus on this being your most productive year yet so, I have a free gift for you. Below is a sign I designed for your writing workspace.

Unless you know someone who always carries an umbrella like Batman’s nemesis “The Penguin,” you probably won’t be interrupted. Feel free to copy it, print it, or send it to your creative friends. Email it to them, or use the social media buttons below. And if there are subjects you’d like me to write about this coming year, leave a comment or send me an email.

PS. If you do find someone knocking on your door and they have both ideas and an umbrella, you should probably let them in because they’re likely to be a kindred spirit.

Share the knowledge.

A great quote! Happy New Year to you.

  2. Erica says:

Love this! Am sending it to all my creative colleagues. Awesome.

Happy New Year and may 2014 bring you unmeasured (or measured if you track that sort of stuff) success.

  3. That is such a funny sign. I love it!

  4. Peter, I always look forward to your posts. I am eager to see what you do in 2014. Happy New Year!

  5. Thanks. I really like it, it is great! I did have a wonderful Christmas. Happy New year to you and everyone else, too!

  6. All I can think of now is sharing this small writing space with the Penguin as he twirls his umbrella and comically lisps his way through commenting on my story board. Too funny. Love the sign.

Content Updates! At one time, I didn't know a sidebar from a slush pile. Writers speak a unique language. So, I created a fun, 5-page glossary of 25+ terms you should know. It’s free when you enter your email to receive content updates. Your email is safe. I post 3-4 times a month. I make sure it's worth your time first.

What is Writing?

"A writer looks at a screen or piece of paper like a canvas. They see a country unexplored, a picture unpainted, a tale not told. They dare to venture into the barren land, explore its dark corners, and paint its pictures. Then they unveil the epic with the goal of compelling people to visit their newly discovered territory.”
